So do you remember my zobo puree recipe I put up earlier this year, for a refresher, here’s the link to that recipe How to How To Make Zobo Puree. Today’s recipe post is a recipe I made using zobo puree; it’s my sweet zobo sauce. You can use the puree to make other sauce variations from spicy to even a much sweeter jam like variation.
However this sweet sauce is my favourite so far, almost like cranberry sauce. You can put it in desserts like cake or my semolina pudding or eat it as a spread on bread. Another tasty option is to have it as a side with grilled meats like chicken or pork, you will not be disappointed. So here’s the recipe

SWEET ZOBO SAUCE RECIPE
- 1 cup zobo puree
- 3 to 4 tbspn sugar prefarably brown, feel free to put as much as you desire
- 1 tspn vanilla extract
- 1/4 apple, sliced (optional)
- In a medium sized pot, combine the zobo puree, apple slices, sugar and and vanilla extract. Cook down for 15 minutes till the sauce looks glossy.
- Taste and adjust accordingly.
You can even add red wine If you’re going for a richer taste.
Serve it with anything you like.
